Abstracts, Posters & Videos
More than 1,300 abstracts will be presented during video and poster sessions, as well as during the new expert-guided poster tours. Congress delegates can collect the EAU18 abstracts on a USB stick at Exhibition Booth G01 in the Red Area and the EAU18 Posters DVD is inserted in all congress bags.
Abstracts and posters are also available online in the EAU18 Resource Centre and through the Congress App for EAU members and congress delegates as of Friday, 16 March 2018. Elsevier will publish the accepted abstracts as an official supplement of European Urology as of Friday, 16 March 2018 at www.sciencedirect.com and http://europeanurology.com/eu-supplements.
Access to the Session Rooms
Only congress delegates with a valid badge, have access to session rooms. Seating is regulated on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend delegates to go to session rooms well in advance.
Due to safety regulations, the organisers will close the session room when all seats are taken. It is not allowed to stand in the aisles of the rooms.

It also features information on past winners of the most prestigious EAU prizes. Badge Tracking System
Congress delegates have a barcode on their badge which enables them to leave their contact details with exhibitors in a quick and easy way. The barcode will also be scanned at the entrance of the session rooms to gather CME and statistical information. EAU bears no responsibility for data scanned by third-parties.
Bank and Exchange
The official currency of Denmark is the krone (kr). There is an ATM in the lobby of the Bella Sky Hotel (charging a transaction fee for withdrawals). There are more ATM’s at shopping mall “Field’s” located at approximately 700 meters. The closest bank is Danske Bank at is 2.6 km from the Bella Center.
The two best posters of each poster session can be viewed at the e-Poster Area, accessible during congress hours in the Orange Area and through the congress website as of Friday, 16 March 2018.
There is a business centre in the Green Area at the West entrance which sells stationery items and has copy and print facilities. Computers with internet access are available on the 1st floor of the AC Bella Sky Hotel (which is linked to the congress venue).
Certificate of Attendance
A Certificate of Attendance for the 33rd Annual EAU Congress will be available online to print as of Wednesday 21 March 2018.
Charge and Connect Area
A special “Charge and Connect Area” with tables and power outlets are available in the exhibition. Here you can charge your mobile devices.
Cloakroom and Luggage
At the main entrance as well as the West entrance cloakrooms are available during congress hours.
Please collect all personal belongings at the end of the day.
A list of CME accreditation points granted by various national urological societies and the European Board of Urology will be available in the programme book and here.
Registered participants can collect a congress bag in the Registration Area (Blue Area).
Congress Newsletter: European Urology Today Special Edition
Special daily congress newsletters will be published on Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the Congress. The newsletters cover on-site news, session and background information on a variety of subjects. The first edition also contains the Exhibition Guide; including an exhibition floor plan and an overview of all exhibitors with their company outline. Distribution at several points within the congress centre. The newsletters will also be available online at this website during and after the congress.

The EAU Booth (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area) consists of the EAU Membership Corner, EBU Corner, EU-ACME Corner, EAUN Information Corner, Patient Information Corner, Young Urologists Corner, European Urological Scholarship Programme Corner, EAU Barcelona 2019 Information Corner, Research Foundation Corner and the EAU Historical Exhibition. There is also information on European Urology and on other EAU publications.
The EAU Membership Corner provides information on membership status and membership benefits. Non-members are welcome to visit the EAU Booth for further information and to apply for EAU Membership.
EAU Education Office – European School of Urology (ESU)
The European School of Urology (ESU), working with European faculties, will provide high quality international educational courses in urology during EAU18.
EAU Patient Information
EAU Patient Information is the trusted portal for patients and urologists, offering evidence-based information on diagnostics, treatments and patient support. Delegates are welcome to visit the EAU Patient Information Corner for a presentation of animated videos on surgical procedures developed for patients. The EAU Patient Information Corner is located next to the EAU Booth (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area).
EAU Policy on Live Surgery
The EAU established an official policy on Live Surgery Events, offering organising centres a clear framework within which to plan and perform live surgeries. It outlines a set of guidelines in which the overriding principle is that patient safety must take priority over all other considerations in the conduct of live surgery. Read more >
EAU Research Foundation
The EAU Central Research Office initiates and coordinates, as well as refines investigator-initiated and other clinical research protocols. It also acts to facilitate all aspects of clinical research and expand the current network of active research centres and investigators – basic and clinical – both within the EAU member states and its international affiliates. The office coordinates clinical and translational research in close liaison with the EAU Research Foundation. The EAU Research Foundation can be visited at the EAU Booth (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area).
Denmark, like most other European countries, has 230volt AC, 50Hz current and uses two-pin continental plugs. Visitors from the UK and Ireland will need a plug adaptor for electric appliances, while those from North America need a power converter to use 110/125V appliances.
Emergency Information and First Aid
There is a medical unit present for first aid at the West entrance, indicated on the directional signs with the first aid symbol. In the event of a medical emergency dial internal telephone number +45 3247 2420.
In case of emergencies, contact a security personnel or call the following numbers: Ambulance/Fire (Emergency) – (+45) 112 Police (Non-emergency) – (+45) 114.
e-Posters are a medium to translate science to the congress delegates. e-Posters explain the science in a different way and can include oral explanations, videos, additional statistics, PowerPoint presentations etc. In addition to the Abstract Poster Sessions, where data will be presented by the authors themselves, e-Posters of these abstracts will be available at the e-Poster Area in the Orange Area.
Information on the EU-ACME programme, CME/CPD credits, membership status & benefits, accredited CME activities and national CME credits systems can be obtained at the EU-ACME information desk at the EAU Booth (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area.
European Association of Urology Nurses (EAUN)
The 19th International EAUN Meeting will be held in Copenhagen on 17-19 March 2018, in conjunction with the EAU18. This unique three-day meeting provides the ultimate opportunity to interact with leading urology nursing and medical professionals and to find inspiration for advanced nursing practice to take forward in your own work environment. The scientific programme will bring together the latest developments in research as well as best practice and current clinical guidelines, through interactive sessions and (state-of-the-art) lectures, providing an opportunity to discuss and share your important clinical experiences and practice.

European Board of Urology (EBU)
The European Board of Urology (EBU) is a section of the UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) and responsible for regulatory matters. Visit the EBU Corner at the EAU Booth (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area) to obtain more information on EBU’s core activities:

European Urology, EU Focus & EU Oncology
European Urology, ‘The Platinum Journal’, is the official journal of the European Association of Urology (EAU).
This international peer-reviewed journal devoted to urology is published since 1975 and reaches nowadays over 20,000 readers. The Editor-in-Chief of European Urology is Professor James Catto. European Urology’s 2016 Impact Factor is 16.265. Come see European Urology for yourself – visit either the European Urology (booth C29) or the EAU Booth (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area).
European Urology Focus (EU Focus) is a sister journal to European Urology and the second official publication of the European Association of Urology (EAU). EU Focus is published at least 6 times per year in an electronic format. Each issue includes a series of invited, thematic reviews, together with original reports, correspondence and introductory editorials on a wide range of urological issues such as oncology, functional urology, reconstructive urology, laparoscopy, robotic surgery, endourology, female urology, andrology, paediatric urology and sexual medicine. EU Focus articles are available on PubMed.
European Urology Oncology (EU Oncology) is the latest sister Journal to European Urology and the first official publication of the EAU fully devoted to the study of genitourinary malignancies. The journal aims to deliver high-quality research while pursuing the goal of a multi-disciplinary approach. Urology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Therapy, Imaging, Pathology and Basic Research working together with the same final aim: to improve patient care.
An extensive technical exhibition will be held during EAU18. The exhibition, open to technical equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and scientific publishers, will officially open on Saturday, 17 March at 09.30. This exhibition is one of the premier events worldwide for showcasing new and established products as well as cutting-edge medical technology. The EAU History Office is presenting a historical exhibit on “Urology in Scandinavia and the Ernest Desnos Prize” (booth H69 in the Exhibition Hall / Red Area).
History Annual EAU Congress
The EAU Congress history website, launched as part of the celebration of the 30th Anniversary Congress, can still be viewed here. All EAU Congresses, going back to the very first in 1972, are included in the interactive overview which can also be viewed at the App.
The company K.I.T. Group has been contracted to handle the hotel accommodation for congress participants. Their staff will be available at the Hotel Desk in the Registration Area (Blue Area).

Lost and Found
For assistance, report any lost or found items to the Information Desk in the main entrance hall (Blue Area).
Registered press representatives may attend all scientific sessions. Photographing during sessions is allowed for personal and non-commercial use only, i.e. photos cannot be published or reproduced in any way. Outside of the scientific sessions, you need written permission by the EAU for photography, filming and interviews at any location within the congress venue.
Video recording of the Congress or during the sessions is subject to authorisation by the EAU Press Office. A written request must be submitted prior to the Congress via email@example.com or can be submitted on-site at the EAU Press Centre. Requests will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Filming crews will have to be accompanied by a representative of the EAU Press Office.

Opening Ceremony and Awards
Participants and exhibitors attending the Congress are invited to the official Opening Ceremony on Friday, 16 March at 18.00-19.30 in the eURO Auditorium (Green Area). During the Opening Ceremony, the new Honorary EAU Members will be announced and the following EAU Awards will be delivered: Willy Gregoir Medal, Frans Debruyne Life Time Achievement Award, Crystal Matula Award, Hans Marberger Award, Prostate Cancer Research Award 2018 and the new Ernest Desnos Award 2018. The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a Networking Reception in the Green Area until 21.00 hrs.

Presentation Training Centre
Mrs. Vivienne Parry (UK) gives Individual Presentation Skills Training Sessions to help improve presentation and delivery skills. The one-on-one half hour sessions are free of charge and available to all speakers.
Appointments for this very popular training session should be made at the Speaker Service Centre (Orange Area).

The scientific content of the meeting such as abstracts, videos and webcasts will be available online in the Resource Centre.
Access the Resource Centre using your congress registration login (MyEAU), your EAU member login (MyEAU) or the barcode number on your congress badge (type the number without the *).
The Danish cuisine originating from the peasant population’s own local produce was enhanced by cooking techniques developed in the late 19th century and the wider availability of goods after the Industrial Revolution. Smørrebrød (open sandwiches) or kogt torsk (poached cod) are typical Danish dishes which you have to try when in Copenhagen. Kindly ask “Wonderful Copenhagen” (Blue Area) for restaurant tips and suggestions.
Security and Safety
Bella Center Copenhagen and the EAU have taken security precautions to ensure the maximum possible safety for all participants.
Bags may be subject to inspection and do not leave them unattended at any time.
Smoking and also smoking of e-cigarettes is not allowed inside the congress centre and in the exhibition area.
The EAU stimulates the use of social media at the Congress to encourage an open discussion on urology science and experiences at the Congress. Speaker Service Centre
The Speaker Service Centre is located at the Orange area. For details, ask our hostesses or check the congress website.
For transportation information please go to the Transportation Desk (in the Registration Area/Blue Area). Delegates will obtain a free transportation pass valid on all public transport. See also page 49 for travel instructions from all congress hotels and page 42 for more travel information in general.
Posters and other information on upcoming meetings can be displayed in the “Upcoming Meetings” promotion area (booth D70 in the Exhibition Hall/Red Area). It is strictly forbidden to put up promotional material at any other location in the building.
The EAU Video Library is located in the Exhibition Hall/ Red Area (booth F69). A wide choice of EAU videos, including all videos presented in Copenhagen and at previous EAU Congresses, can be viewed on individual monitors. All videos can be copied to a DVD which can be collected during exhibition hours, a service that is provided free of charge to all Congress delegates.
On Tuesday, 20 March DVD’s can be collected in the Registration Area (Blue Area) at the “Support Desk”.
Sessions, as indicated, will be webcasted and posted hours after the session on eau18.org/rc. Webcasts are not edited and watching them offers no CME credits.
Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the congress venue during congress hours.
